Flow rate on 1 inch double over flow

I'm getting ready to set up my 125 and have an over flow box with dual outlets that are 1 inch diameter at top. The box itself is about 8.5 " X 4".

I have estimated the flow to be at a maximum of 1400 GPH but I'm not an engineer nor am I positive of this. I found some flow rates based upon an advertisement for a brand of over flow that may or may not be similar in design.

I need to have a pretty good idea so I can match the return pump. I'm looking for an external pump also so if anyone has a good used one out there I may be interested.

Hi,

I think you are pretty close, usually 1" can give you between 700-1000gph flow. So probably 1400 to 2000 would be your range. So 1400 should be a safe bet.
