This is really dumb but my first question is can star fish split and make new star fish? I have had one starfish for awhile now and I just saw two more realy small ones today? I have no clue where they came from.
Also I have a really tiny anemome that just showed up could that have come in off of some of the live rock?

id say the starfish you see came in on some live rock like the anemone. i forgot the name of the small starfish, but they can multiply very quickly. i had them all over my last tank. I've heard mixed reports if they are good or bed to have. the nem could be a vast number of species. hopefully not aptaisa. they will spread, spread, spread, and sting all in their way. any pics?

Well I thought that too until yesterday...now they are all over the tank!!! They are very small but I counted at least 15 yesterday. We haven't added any new live rock for awhile. Could our one that we have breeded by it's self?
I tried to take pictures of the starfish, but they are to small you can't tell what they are.

Sounds like a manajo or aptasia to me, both of which are bad and can become very bad. The stars are pry astria star, grey or white in color. I wouuldn't worry about them a ton, but the nem's yes. You need a good identification first. If aptasia i'd throw 3-4 pepermint shrimp in there and not feed for a week, they will pick ehm out.

Ok that's good to know about the star fish.
I think I have concluded that it is a anenome it has moved now like 3 times. we have two pep shrimp in there. Our two clown fish have started to go into it also.

The starfish probably are Asterina's and if the peppermint shrimp don't work for you, you could look into Red Sea's Aptaisia-X. I've found it works great with smaller aptaisia, but I can't kill my bigger ones with it...they just shrink and split. Try the shrimp first since you have them, but if they don't have a taste for them, the Red Sea stuff seems to be getting rave reviews. Good luck...I know aptaisia's been my bane for many years now.
