I have this red algae growing on my live rock in my tank. At first it started out red now after about a month of growth the ends are turning grey in color. None of my snails, cleaner shrimp, or crabs seems to eat this. I only have a 30 gallon tank so I cannot put a tang in there. Current fish are a pair of clownfish only. All my water parameters are good, use salifert test kits. Also using carbon and rowaphos, change this about every six weeks. Can you help identify this algae and suggest some thing that could eat or remove it? I tried to manually remove this but it is very stubborn and grows back within several weeks. My tank has been set up for about three years. Also increased flow does not help, as it is also growing near the outlet on one of my powerheads. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like a type of macro algae I have come across before. I had emerald crabs that would pick at it, but nothing that would wipe it out. What worked for me, is eventually my tank nutrition reached a low enough point to where my refugium algae was able to outcompete it, and it just started fading away and starving out.
